If you wear glasses this might be a good reason to go 8x. Lastly, the eye relief is better on the 8x models. The 10x32 are more compact, lighter and easier to stash in a pocket, but a little harder to keep still. The 8x let in more light, and so they're better at dusk or dawn, if you plan to see stuff at that time of day. The 10x will be a little harder to hold steady, maybe you need to lean on a rail or tree or something. 10x will have slightly more magnification, so a little more closer up when you want to look at one particular thing. So if a pod of whales is spread out, you'll catch more of them in the frame. My wife wanted small form factor, so she has 10x32.Ĩx42 will have the widest field of view.
